Measurement Policy

MyTrueBlinds Measurement Policy

Last Updated: September 16, 2026

This Measurement Policy explains the responsibilities and requirements associated with measuring windows and ordering custom window coverings from MyTrueBlinds.

Accurate measurements are important because many MyTrueBlinds products are custom-made specifically according to the measurements and specifications provided for an order.

1. Customer-Provided Measurements

When a customer provides their own measurements, the customer is responsible for ensuring that those measurements are accurate unless MyTrueBlinds has separately provided a measurement service or measurement guarantee.

Customers should carefully follow the measurement instructions applicable to the product being ordered.

2. Measurement Instructions

Measurement requirements may vary depending on:

  • Product type
  • Inside or outside mount
  • Window configuration
  • Product manufacturer
  • Mounting requirements
  • Motorization
  • Installation method
  • Other product specifications

Customers should use the measurement instructions provided by MyTrueBlinds for the specific product whenever available.

3. Measure Each Window Individually

Customers should measure each window individually rather than assuming that windows that appear identical have exactly the same dimensions.

Windows within the same room or building may have slight differences in:

  • Width
  • Height
  • Depth
  • Squareness
  • Trim
  • Mounting surface

Each opening should be identified clearly when multiple products are being ordered.

4. Measurement Accuracy

Measurements should be recorded carefully and in the units requested by MyTrueBlinds.

Customers should double-check measurements before submitting an order.

A measurement error can result in a product that does not properly fit the intended opening.

5. Customer Measurement Responsibility

Unless MyTrueBlinds has expressly provided a measurement service or measurement guarantee, the customer is responsible for customer-provided measurements.

Incorrect customer measurements generally do not constitute:

  • A manufacturing defect
  • A product defect
  • A shipping error
  • A warranty-covered issue

6. MyTrueBlinds Measurement Services

When available, MyTrueBlinds may offer measurement assistance or professional measurement services.

The specific terms of any measurement service or measurement guarantee will apply to the order.

A measurement service may include different requirements, fees, geographic limitations, or guarantees depending on the service selected.

7. Measurement Guarantee

A measurement guarantee applies only when MyTrueBlinds expressly confirms that the order is covered by such a guarantee.

A customer should not assume that purchasing installation automatically includes a measurement guarantee.

The specific terms provided with the measurement service control the scope of any measurement guarantee.

8. Installation Does Not Automatically Transfer Measurement Responsibility

If an installer installs a product based on customer-provided measurements, the installation itself does not automatically make MyTrueBlinds or the installer responsible for the original measurements.

If an installer identifies a potential measurement problem before installation, the installer may stop or postpone installation while the issue is reviewed.

9. Measurement Errors Discovered Before Production

If a customer discovers an error in their measurements before production, the customer should contact MyTrueBlinds immediately.

Customers have 24 hours from the time an order is placed to request changes or cancellation.

After the 24-hour period, custom orders are generally final and measurement changes may not be possible.

10. Measurement Errors Discovered After Production

Once a custom product has entered production, changes to the measurements may not be possible.

If a customer-provided measurement results in a product that does not fit properly, the issue may not qualify as a warranty defect.

MyTrueBlinds may, at its discretion, offer an available solution such as:

  • Replacement
  • Reorder
  • Discount
  • Credit
  • Other accommodation

Any such accommodation is not guaranteed unless specifically agreed to in writing.

11. Measurement-Related Satisfaction Exchanges

An eligible product may qualify for the 3-day satisfaction exchange described in the Refunds, Returns & Cancellations Policy.

The satisfaction exchange:

  • Must be requested within 3 calendar days after delivery.
  • Is available one time only per order.
  • Is limited to a maximum of 5 window coverings.
  • Is subject to product eligibility and other requirements.
  • Does not automatically constitute a refund.
  • Does not automatically include removal or reinstallation costs.

Customer measurement errors may be subject to additional limitations.

12. Property Conditions

Customers should consider conditions that may affect measurements, including:

  • Window trim
  • Sills
  • Handles
  • Locks
  • Cranks
  • Screens
  • Security devices
  • Obstructions
  • Uneven surfaces
  • Wall or ceiling conditions
  • Window depth
  • Other surrounding conditions

Products must have sufficient clearance for their intended operation and installation method.

13. Motorized Products

Motorized products may require additional measurement considerations for:

  • Motor clearance
  • Power access
  • Battery compartments
  • Controls
  • Wiring
  • Hubs
  • Other equipment

Customers should follow the product-specific measurement requirements provided by MyTrueBlinds.

14. Multiple Products

When ordering multiple window coverings, customers should verify the measurements and specifications for each individual opening.

A single incorrect measurement should not be assumed to apply to all products in an order.

15. Measurement and Warranty

The standard one-year limited warranty covers qualifying product defects as described in the MyTrueBlinds Warranty Policy.

The warranty generally does not cover problems caused solely by incorrect customer-provided measurements.

Defects that are unrelated to customer measurements may remain eligible for warranty consideration.

16. Measurement and Delivery Issues

Visible damage, incorrect products, missing components, incorrect quantities, or other issues reasonably discoverable during initial inspection should be reported within 7 calendar days after delivery.

The 7-day reporting period does not eliminate warranty rights for defects that could not reasonably have been discovered during initial inspection.

17. Changes After the Order

Customers should review all measurements and product selections carefully before submitting an order.

The 24-hour order change and cancellation period applies to measurement changes as well as other custom specifications.

After 24 hours, custom orders generally cannot be changed or canceled except where required by law or approved by MyTrueBlinds in writing.

18. Customer Questions Before Ordering

Customers who are uncertain about how to measure a window should seek assistance before placing an order whenever possible.

Providing photographs, window information, or other relevant details may help MyTrueBlinds determine what measurement information is needed.

Customers should not guess when a measurement requirement is unclear.

19. Changes to This Policy

MyTrueBlinds may update this Measurement Policy from time to time.

The current version will be posted on the Website with an updated date.
